Rarepair: Frigga/Nick Fury

One of the joys of the Marvel Universe (cinematic or comics alike) is the sheer abundance of characters to choose from for yous ships. Sure, I like the big ships like the next fangirl, but sometimes I have different needs. My (not so) secret (anymore) rarepair love goes to Frigga/Nick Fury. I don't feel up to the task to write fic at the moment but I think I feel ready to share my thoughts on their romance. If anyone feels like writing something for them, they'll have my eternal gratitude.
The seeds for this took root after Thor: The Dark World. Naturally I was not happy that anyone thought that it was a good idea to let Frigga day. One of the few women over 40 in the MCU and she had to be fridged. I was furious and this more than anything earned T:TDW a place close to the bottom of my list of Marvel movies. But thankfully there was an ideal opening for a headcanon. Undoubtedly Loki got the idea to fake his death from somewhere, I mean he is a crafty b*stard, but I think he learned from the best. From his mother. And it def is no stretch of the imagination to believe that Frigga was fed up with the state of things an Asgard, especially how her dearest husband was handling the family affairs. Lets face it, we all knew that Odin was a shitty father long before we saw how bad he was in Thor: Ragnarok. And I doubt that he was a great husband.
Ok, back to Frigga. She sees her chance when she is wounded, fakes her death and leaves Asgard (with the help of Heimdall, because he's a good bro). To avoid detection and to make amends, since she feels more than a bit responsible for the havoc caused directly or indirectly by her family, she comes to Midgard. She tries to find and contain dangerous artifacts and generally help people who get in trouble, especially of a magical kind. So who might cross her way in this endeavor? Who feels responsible for Midgards security and is a bit at loose ends after what happened during CA:WS? Nick Fury. Naturally their meeting did not start as a romance. Nick's trust issues are more than well documented and Frigga definitely is not ready to fall for the next one eyed man she meets.
But they are both heart-sore (even if Nick would never use an expression like that) and lonely. And they are both fundamentally good people who might lie to others but never to themselves. So they both know when their feelings change from distant approval to tentative trust to appreciation to friendship and love. And they are both to old (she more so) to waste any time after they realize this.

Maybe she was in a coma believed never to awaken again, but she did later. She would have figured out that "Odin" was Loki. They talk and fake her death together and then Frigga leaves for Midgard.
(Except by this point Odin is Midgard too, isn't he? Hm, in that case maybe Frigga would rather go elsewhere. Or maybe if she wants to go to Midgard Loki puts Odin somewhere else.)

When I came up with this idea it wasn't known that Odin was on earth, so I never planned for that, but I usually don't let new canon deter me, unless it lents itself to more interesting ideas ;).
