I still don't know what I will do with this account. In the course of my online history I've picked up some anxiety about expressing myself, especially in writing. So tumblr was ideal for me. I could watch, like, reblog, tag, and still feel connected. Here I'll probably have to leave my comfort zone. That will take some time.
I usually write in English, even if its not my first language. It's easier for me, because it feels less personal and more unreal, I don't know how to express this better. And most of the stuff I'm interested in happens in English, so there's that.
For everyone who wants to know a bit more about me, before I start to get active here some info about me:
I'm from Germany, born in the early 70's. I'm a queer ciswoman. I battle with depression and anxiety.
For anyone who wants to find out more about my interests, feel free to look at my tumblr
I'm back! Maybe?
Sticky: Dec. 18th, 2019 01:48 pmI'm using dreamwidth for about a year now. Life in general, getting on top of some mental health stuff and feeling alot more self conciuos about my writing than usual got in the way of this journal. I will try to write once or twice a week and maybe get active in some communities again. So lets see how it works out.

I am so stupid and (probably) changing
Jun. 15th, 2019 10:20 amI cannot believe that I only realized what I had written after I posted it: https://tentacleduck.dreamwidth.org/2454.html?thread=6550#cmt6550.
What I wanted to post: musings about changes in they way I feel about and interact with fandom and maybe some remarks about how much I love Good Omens.
That is not what I did write. I am now sure I wrote: Oh, by the way, there are more and more signs that my Wechseljahre are waiting just around the corner. This is the last sentence of my comment: "Lets just say that the fields of fucks I have to give get more and more barren." I don't know how I could have been more on the nose if I'd had the intention to write about approaching menopause. And in the sentence before that I talked about aging.
I think I have to start monitoring my cycle more closely from now on. And be more mindful when I write things on the internet, they could have hidden truths.

Fandom Fluctuation
Jun. 8th, 2019 02:05 pmSo my obsession with the MCU has cooled down. I still love the fandom and have a lot of emotions concerning the comics but the love for the movies has shrunk down from fevered enthusiasm to a more subdued interest. At the moment there is nothing new to take its place.
I binged Good Omens, found it utterly charming and will definitely step back into that fandom but I'm really curious which next big thing will capture me.

Round up for December 2018
Jan. 8th, 2019 03:15 pmSince I find it not easy to keep track of all the things that are happening here I‘ll try to do monthly(?) Round-up-posts. They will contain not everything, just what I want to keep mind and maybe want to revisit in future.
Things I discovered here:
- In their comment to this thread
dendriteblues recced a great fic for a threesome (Loki/Valkyrie/Natasha) I never before thought about. It was so worth reading!
cupidsbow wrote a review that made me buy some comics (not only the one recommendet but others as well because there was a sale going on and I have no self control). I didn‘t get around to read anything yet, but it sits there and waits for me!
- The symbrock fest let to some fun art and fic. I didn't create anything but did my best to ad some ideas and comments. My highlights:
- A cute one-frame cartoon by
cupidsbow
- Some sexy drawn knitwear by
mific
- And an adorable prompt fill, again by
cupidsbow
- A cute one-frame cartoon by
- And I enjoy the hell out of
girlbookwrm's Mighty Endgame Rewatch
What I did:
Since this is my first month on dreamwidth there is not that much activity on my part. Obviously I wrote some entries here, left comments, but posted only one entry in mcu_cosmic with a link to my Ragnatalk review here.
Future reference:
I filled some memories with fics, art and other recs I want to look at later („Things to check out later“) and found some helpful posts about how Dreamwidth works („housekeeping“).
Rarepair: Frigga/Nick Fury
Jan. 5th, 2019 05:04 pmOne of the joys of the Marvel Universe (cinematic or comics alike) is the sheer abundance of characters to choose from for yous ships. Sure, I like the big ships like the next fangirl, but sometimes I have different needs. My (not so) secret (anymore) rarepair love goes to Frigga/Nick Fury. I don't feel up to the task to write fic at the moment but I think I feel ready to share my thoughts on their romance. If anyone feels like writing something for them, they'll have my eternal gratitude.

Opas Faltbecher
Dec. 16th, 2018 09:59 amToday I woke up and thought about a folding cup. Maybe it was a leftover memory from a dream, maybe it came from the thoughts I'm having about my family and childhood because of the upcoming holidays.
There was a folding cup that was important during my childhood. It belonged to my grandpa. He keept it hidden close to spring in a small moor area close to our home. He often took my siblings and me and sometimes other friends for walks there. When we came to the spring he got out the cup and we all could drink. There was a paved area around the spring, but close by was an especially swampy patch where we used to dare each other to stick our feet in. My grandpa let us do it but always keept an attentive eye on us.
A lot of great childhood memories are connected to my maternal grandpa. Probably because he died when I was twelve. He did not live long enough to see me questioning religion, turning to feminism, coming out as lesbian and later as bi. I can go on to believe that he would have stayed the same kind, liberal, and open minded man I remember from my childhood.
